RealPlayer Installation Instructions
RealPlayer software is required to view the streaming video clips on this website. If you try to play the clips without the RealOne Player, you may be prompted to download it. If so, just click on the "Yes" button on the dialog box.
You can also start the process by simply clicking on the "Real Player FREE" button.
After clicking on the button, you will be redirected to the following page. Note that the intent is to get you to pay for the premium player. Which is fine, if you want to. If you look closely, however, you will see the link for the "FREE RealOne Player" in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Click on it. |
The next screen also is dedicated to the premium player, so look for the "Download the Free RealOne Player" link in the lower right hand corner of the screen. Click on the link to start the download.
If you do not have a Windows computer, you can select one of the other options for different operating systems.
You should see the "Download Manager" automatically start. It will display the approximate amount of time needed to complete the download. Progress is shown on the bar, and a number of ads will appear in the lower portion of the window.
It will take about 30 minutes to download with a 56k modem. Broadband connections will be faster.
When the download is complete, it will automatically start to install the software. Just follow along, as the installer will prompt you for responses throughout the process. Choose "Express Install" for best results, and click on the "Next" button. |
You must accept the license in order to install the software. Click the "Accept" button to proceed.
Now you must select the speed of your internet connection. If you have a dial up modem, it will most likely be 56.6 Kbps. If you have Cable or DSL, then choose the approximate speed. (The installer may automatically preselect the correct option for you.) Click the "Next" button to continue. |
If you have a previous version of RealPlayer already installed on your computer, you will see this message. Just click yes. If you don't see this message, then don't worry about it. |
The software will now be installed, and you can see the progress displayed on the bar.
The RealOne Player will automatically try to be the default player for many different types of media. We recommend that you uncheck all of the boxes except for "Other Media" so that your media files open with the players that you are familiar with. Click the "Finish" button after you have made your selections. |
Now you need to fine tune your settings for the player. Click the "Next" button to continue.
The player will periodically connect to the RealNetworks server for further processing.
You will now have to register the software. Enter your e-mail address and other required information. Required fields have an asterisk "*" next to them. Note that the password requires at least 6 characters. Click the "Create" button when you are ready. |
You will be asked once again to choose the premium player. If you don't mind paying for it, go ahead. If you want the totally FREE version, then choose "Basic Setup" and then click the "Continue" button. |
The RealOne Player should now open. You have the option of setting your start page on internet radio, or the RealOne homepage. We chose the homepage, as displayed below.
Your RealOne Player is now completely installed. To view the Online Karaoke, you should first close your web browser and all of the RealOne related installation windows. Then reopen the browser, and go straight to Honolulunightlife.com. Have fun! |
